Here we will note the improvements that are happening with the Power Market Simulator model and similar models.
Power Market Simulator model

- The heuristic solver, which Strategirummet itself developed, has been replaced by HiGHS, which is a mathematical solver developed by MIT. The heuristic solver is still used in a special case where users can follow the calculation process when solving the optimization of production planning
- An option has been added to calculate the prices in the bidding zones flow-based. This calculation is based on the simplification that we assume that the reactances are the same in all transmission connections. You have access to the flow-based calculation in PMS-Education and PMS-Experimental
- Data for production plants and flexible electricity consumption plants for Denmark is no longer based on information from Enerdata, but data is obtained from the Danish Energy Agency

- PMS has now been developed so that users can choose between different scenarios before starting the calculation. Each scenario has its own database
- Two different tools have been developed to load scenarios into the PMS database. The two tools are made available to users
- One tool, Add-Units-Technologies, is used to load an expansion plan for the price zones corresponding to the scenario you want to load
- The other tool, PowerPlants-v2, is used to divide existing price zones, insert new ones into the sea and load Excel sheets with data into the PMS database
- The Straterummet's Analysis Group is collaborating with Rambøll to load the TYNDP scenarios: National Trends, National Trends(Low), National Trends(High), Distributed Generation and Global Ambition into the PMS databases. The relevant databases are made available to users
